Sales Representative - Food Safety


 


Our client, an established, growing food safety technology company is looking for a Sales Representative - Food Safety to join their team in the North Side of Chicago, IL as a full-time employee. This is truly a great opportunity for a strong Sales Representative to help launch a new food safety testing product with a very strong up-side in the food safety industry. You will be able to work remotely most of the time, and will need to report to the office a couple of days per week. This is an exciting opportunity at a startup brand within an existing company, and you will be on the front line with customer consultation, rapport building, creating opportunities, and advancing the company sales goals with food safety decision makers. The ideal candidate will bring a demonstrated record of accomplishment meeting and exceeding goals as a sales professional. The Sales Representative - Food Safety is primarily responsible for achieving sales objectives by successfully converting inbound marketing driven leads into new accounts, prospecting within targeted account lists in your assigned territory, organizing and implementing activity into the CRM, engaging with target markets, and understanding the value proposition for each. You will be responsible for understanding, promoting, and enabling the brand’s position within the marketplace. Our client offers the opportunity to be part of an organization with deep history, and instrumental in supporting the company's continued growth. 



Required Qualifications :

* Sales, Cold Calling and Account Management experience within the Food Safety industry is mandatory.


* Ability to articulate technical applications, processes, features, benefits, and immunoassay detection results.


* Must have experience using a CRM system to effectively help to drive sales ( Zoho is a plus ).


* Flexibility to travel regionally once a week per month, and occasionally for national trade shows. 


* Bachelor's Degree in Food Microbiology or Business Administration is strongly preferred. Commensurate experience will be considered in lieu of the Food Microbiology or Business Administration educational background. 


* Working knowledge of Word / Excel / PowerPoint / Outlook. 


* Passionate about Food Safety with the willingness to forward developing accounts to the Outside Sales Team.


* Practice proper business etiquette, possess strong interpersonal communication, organizational and record-keeping skills.
