Environmental, Health, & Safety Specialist

Our client, an established, stable company is looking for an EH&S Specialist to join their team in Mequon, WI as a full-time employee. Under the guidance of the Director of Regulatory Affairs, the EH&S Specialist will direct all Safety, Health and Environmental ( S/H/E ) regulatory compliance for the company; Oversee training and development of programs that will enhance safety within all plant facilities and reduce the number of accidents and improve the Workmen’s Compensation Insurance rates; Champion safety efforts by promoting safety programs and involving leadership participation to drive safety as the top priority. Essential Functions:
* Ensure all sites compliance to all Federal, State, and Local S/H/E regulatory requirements.
* Ensure all sites compliance to all customer S/H/E requirements.
* Conduct safety audits at all sites.
* Coordinate all safety meetings within company.
* Correspond to all S/H/E regulatory communications.
* Submit required reports and documents to regulatory agencies and customer contacts in a timely manner.
* Lead accident investigations and determination of root cause/preventative measures.
* Ensure activities related to waste management are executed in compliance with applicable standards.

Required Qualifications :
Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree (BS/BA) in Safety or related field is strongly preferred.
* 3+ years of related Safety experience and/or training. 

* Chemical manufacturing environment experience.
* Experience with as many of the following: S/H/E requirements (strongly preferred), OSHA regulations, EH&S Standards, GHS Standards, SDS, FDA, EPA, Hazcom.
* Strong project management, organization and multi-tasking skills.

* Ability to travel once or twice a week to neighboring facilities (within 20 minutes of driving), and infrequently to other regional locations.
* Flexibility to work extra hours when necessary to handle spikes in workload and meet deadlines.
